In my 10 days stay in the Philippines, I was able to back to my couturier 3 times. First visit was the same day I arrived. I tried on the lining for measurement purposes, breast padding size, etc. Ms. Tessa also showed me the material she wanted to use for my mom’s dress and the secondary sponsors’ dresses and also showed me the type of organza they would be using for my skirt. I wanted a touch of pink in my dress, so she also showed me a shade of pink of the same material. It was a little too pink though and I requested for something lighter.
Second visit was to pay for the downpayment to settle everything and get the dress started. She told me they would do a little bit of the skirt so that I would be able to see a part of it before going back to Doha and so I won’t be too anxious about it. We pair her x-amount of money for the downpayment and the rest will be paid later. During this visit, we were also able to visit their events garden for which I have a separate entry about. Check it out, it pretty amazing. 🙂
Third and final visit, I decided to tag one of my flower girls along to have her measurements taken, and also to show them my bridal shoes if it will match the dress color and length. During this visit, Ms. Tessa wasn’t available and Ate Marites was there to entertain me. Another bride-to-be arrived at the same time we arrived at the shop. As I heard, they were also there for measurement taking. But Ate Marites entertained me first and I felt really special. Hihi. 😛 Then she told me that they already did something with my dress top, and showed me.. Whoa! I was in shock as I didn’t expect the top to be almost ready by that time! 😀 I was only expecting the skirt.. And I got really excited when she told me they added a little bit of pink in the pleated part of the top. I never thought of that but it looked really nice so I agreed to the idea. 🙂 She also showed me the type of ruffles they would be making for my skirt.. Although she only showed a small part (that’s all that they were able to do), I just imagined it whole in my head. Indeed, this made me less anxious and paranoid about my dress. Instead, I now feel super excited about the final output. I even had a dream lately that it was done and when I told Ms. Tessa about my dream, she said “Actually.. malapit na.” Oh dear me, I am itching to see my dress. But I am trying my best to control myself from asking for an update picture. I want to see it when it’s final and wholly finished. A few months more.. I just have to wait a few months more.. 🙂
PS: by the way, I have a snapshot of my top and part of my skirt, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise so I decided not to post it here for the meantime. 🙂
