Day 1: A Favorite Song

As I was planning to start writing this post, I thought hard to figure out what my favorite song is. I opened iTunes and scrolled up and down trying to find a favorite song. I know it’s weird not knowing what my favorite song is, but I really don’t have a specific one. I like a lot of songs, old and new. But as I tried to think about it, I realized the first song that came to mind was A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. I tried to argue with my inner self that it is not a favorite song because honestly, I think this song has been played and used too many times in too many occasions. But my inner self knew better. She knows why this song was my mind’s initial reaction upon reading today’s blog topic. My friends would probably know the reason behind the song, but for those who are clueless, I’ll tell you the story. No, it’s not because of the movie Breaking Dawn.

As some of you know, I recently got married. I never really thought about my bridal march song early in the planning stage, so just couple of months prior to our big day, I started to search for the perfect bridal march song. Of course I wanted a song that will tell how I feel and what I feel for my husband. Long before Laviel proposed, I always thought I wanted Shania Twain’s From This Moment to be my bridal march song. I always get goosebumps whenever I hear that song while imagining myself walking down the aisle. Bwahaha! But when it came to my actual wedding, I wasn’t so convinced with using that song. Some of my friends suggested A Thousand Years, but I thought it’s being used too much lately. A few weeks before our wedding, I thought Joy Williams’ I’m In Love With You is the perfect song.

Come wedding day, we forgot to burn a cd with my bridal march song! Last minute, I did the burning but unfortunately, the format wasn’t match with the church’s CD player. So my coordinator just advised the choir to sing A Thousand Years as I walk down the aisle. So, yeah.. Now whenever I hear that song, the memory of my moment while walking down the aisle keeps coming back to me and I feel like I am falling in love over and over again. ♥♥♥

Oh no! You shouldn’t have chosen this one because this is the challenge for Day 12!

Day 12: A song that you want played at your wedding (or was played).

Congratulations on your new post, by the way! I really hope you sustain this one! 🙂
