We Are Turning 2!

IMG_5015-0.JPG

Four. We have exactly 4 days before our 2nd year wedding anniversary. It is amazing how time flies. Just like yesterday, we were just preparing for our big day. Now, we have a 9 month old son and almost 24 months behind us. But I am not here to reminisce about the past – not like that it was a long long time ago – but I am here to pick your brains. I have been trying to come up with a plan in celebration of our 2nd year wedding anniversary but I can’t seem to decide what activity we should do. If you remember last year, we decided to stay overnight at Ritz Carlton and pampered ourselves with a full body massage. Now that we have our little boy, I’m not sure if it is still a good idea to stay in a hotel. I mean, what activity can we do together? Other than swimming, of course. Leaving out our little boy from the celebration is, by the way, not an option.
So far, here’s what I have in mind:

OPTION A
Overnight stay at a local hotel

Yes – despite me having said earlier that I am doubtful that staying in a hotel is a good idea, it is still at the top of the list. This is by far, the easiest solution to my dilemma. Besides, I have a hotel membership now that I can use so… go figure.

OPTION B
Eat out

This can either be a lunch out or dinner. PRO – we can celebrate with family (say, my mom and dad?). CON – too short for quality time with hubby and baby. I’m actually thinking this can be an ‘add-on’ to whatever else we plan to do (i.e. overnight stay at a local hotel).

OPTION C
Get hubby an expensive gift and…

… I don’t really know what’s next after getting him an expensive gift. And I also have no idea what the item would be. It should be something that he won’t say “this is a waste of money”. Any idea?

OPTION D
Go on leave and prepare something

This is a nice thought. I can actually go on leave and prepare something homemade. A lot of effort but I would definitely enjoy this. One concern though: would we have a nanny in 12 days’ time? If not, then I am not sure if Lucio will cooperate with this option.
Well, there you go. Those are my thoughts. I can’t think of anything else. I don’t want to spend our anniversary doing nothing at all. I feel it should be something simple yet memorable. Yes, I am a very sentimental person and I like celebrating special occasions because I know in the future when were older, it would be something to reminisce about.

So, if you have any thoughts, suggestions or any idea on what we can do to celebrate and commemorate our 2nd year wedding anniversary, please feel free to hit the comment box below. It would be very much helpful.

Cheers!

P.S – Trivia: Just want to share that this blog (my blog) turned 3 last August 3. I think I should have some celebration for that too!

My vote goes for option D! You both need a break from work, and family quality time is waaay better than any form of celebration. Besides, I take it that Laviel isn’t big on expensive things, and he’d appreciate it more if you’d step out of your busy day to make an effort. Ya, dig? Hihihi. 🙂

Advance happy anniversary, Mr & Mrs DC! We love you!
